Coleman, 53, is named executive director, Quality, The Americas, \n effective April 1. \n\nDEARBORN, Mich., March 16 - Ford Motor Company today announced further changes\nin its corporate officer structure that will allow the Company to continue\nstreamlining its operations, while more fully aligning its quality processes and\ndisciplines with its core manufacturing and engineering functions. \n\nBennie Fowler, Ford Motor Company vice president, Advanced Manufacturing\nEngineering, The Americas, is appointed vice president, Global Quality and\nAdvanced and Manufacturing Engineering, The Americas, effective April 1. He will\ncontinue to report to Dave Szczupak, Ford's group vice president, Manufacturing,\nThe Americas, and in leading Global Quality, he will report to Jim Padilla, Ford\nMotor Company president and chief operating officer. \n\nIn his expanded role, Fowler will be responsible for driving the quality\nprocesses and discipline, which will enable the Company to deliver superior\nquality in the design and manufacture of all Ford cars, trucks and components\nworldwide. He also will maintain his current responsibility for developing\nproduct programs and advanced manufacturing processes and ensuring alignment\nbetween the Company's product creation and manufacturing operations. \n\nFowler joined Ford as a superintendent at St. Thomas Assembly Plant in 1990, and\nhas held a variety of leadership positions since, including vehicle line\ndirector for Ford's F-Series Super Duty vehicle lineup, plant manager of Wayne\nStamping and Assembly, executive director for North America Product Development\nand chief operating officer for Jaguar and Land Rover. \n\n'Combining Global Quality with Bennie's existing responsibilities demonstrates\nthe priority that the Company is placing on quality,' said Padilla.
