Aug. 31, 2010 (Filing Services Canada) -- Boxxer Gold Corp. (BXX - TSX Venture), ("Boxxer" or the "Corporation") is pleased to announce it has received final approval from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to proceed with the proposed 8,000 metre (m) diamond drilling program on its 100% controlled Boss copper-gold porphyry project, located in the Goodsprings Mining District in southern Nevada. The first phase of the proposed 8,000 metre diamond drilling program will consist of 6,400 metres, and will include 11 holes to test the high priority geophysical targets defined in the Quantec survey results of early 2010. The remaining 1,600 metres will be used to either deepen holes, drill offset holes or diamond drill other geophysical targets identified to date.
The diamond drill contractor anticipates that rig mobilization to the site will commence immediately after the September Labor Day holiday (September 6th) in the United States, with drilling to commence shortly thereafter. All drill access roads to the various targets are ready.
Boxxer's President and CEO, Elmer B. Stewart, explained, "We are very pleased and excited to commence our drill testing that will be the first systematic drilling exploration to be conducted in the Goodsprings Mining District to test for the porphyry copper potential. The high quality, large geophysical targets outlined to date, including the copper-gold skarn exposed in the Boss Extension, are the priority drill targets. We expect the program to take between four and six months." See Figure 1 for target locations.
Elmer B. Stewart, MSc. P. Geol., President of Boxxer, is the Corporation's nominated Qualified Person pursuant to National Instrument #43-101, Standards for Disclosure for Mineral Projects, has reviewed the technical information disclosed in this news release.
