(TSX:EXN; OTC:EXLLF) (\"Excellon\" or\n the \"Company\") reports that employees returned to work over the weekend and production\n has resumed at the Platosa Mine in Durango, Mexico following a pause in\n operations for a safety review.  Operations were paused after two\n employees, Evaristo Nova Soto, a 31-year-old electrical supervisor, and\n Jorge Carillo Rivera, a 25-year-old general serviceman, were fatally\n injured during routine operations on the evening of January 9, 2014.\n\n\nA preliminary investigation was completed by the Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social and Protección Civil, in cooperation with the Company and the Sindicato Nacional Minero Metalúrgico Napoleón Gómez Sada (the Platosa Union).  The area of the mine where the accident occurred\n remains closed off for further detailed investigation by the\n authorities and the Company's safety experts to better understand the\n cause of the accident and implement an action plan to prevent similar\n accidents from ever happening again.\n\n\nThe three employees who were also affected by the accident have been\n released from hospital following precautionary observation over the\n weekend.\n\n\n\"The team at La Platosa is working rigorously to implement further\n preventive safety measures to minimize any hazard risks in the\n workplace,\" said Brendan Cahill, President and CEO. \"Our top priority\n is the health and safety of our people and we are working together to\n identify and manage any risks in a timely and effective manner.
