(TSX:EXN; OTC:EXLLF) (\"Excellon\" or\n the \"Company\"), Mexico's highest grade silver producer, is pleased to report production results for the second quarter of 2013\n and assay results from nine diamond drill-holes at the La Platosa Mine\n in Durango, Mexico.\n\n\nHighlights\n\n\nProduction of 404,225 silver equivalent ounces, including: \n\n\nOre grades of 627 g/t (18.29 oz/T) Ag, 6.62% Pb and 10.44% Zn; \n\n\n252,789 oz Ag; \n\n\n1,514,465 lbs Pb; and\n\n\n2,460,728 lbs Zn;\n\n\nMetal recoveries continue to improve and exceed expectations;\n\n\nMantos drilling intersected near-infrastructure high-grade\n mineralization with elevated gold values, expanding the 6A Manto,\n including:\n\n\n512 g/t Ag, 5.26% Pb, 5.85% Zn and 0.550 g/t Au over 5.33 metres from\n 134 metres down-hole in LP1075;\n\n\n795 g/t Ag, 9.04% Pb, 11.07% Zn and 0.256 g/t Au over 5.34 metres from\n 134 metres down-hole in LP1083.\n\n\n\"During the second quarter we began taking steps to increase La\n Platosa's high-grade production and mine life,\" stated Brendan Cahill,\n President and Chief Executive Officer.  \"We conducted significant mine\n development that should effectively double operating mining faces in\n the coming months. Despite the impact on production, this necessary\n development positions us well for the remainder of the year. We\n continue the process of developing into higher-grade areas of the\n resource, which should also increase production grades later this\n year.\"\n\n\nMr. Cahill continued, \"Drilling during the quarter intersected\n high-grade silver/lead/zinc mineralization along with anomalous gold on\n the periphery of the 6A Manto.  Gold mineralization in the mantos\n themselves is a new development at La Platosa and has the potential to\n further improve the mine's profitability in the future.\"\n\n\nProduction Results for the Second Quarter, 2013\n\n\n \n\n\nQ2 2013*\n\n\nQ2 2012\n\n\n6-Mos 2013**\n\n\n6-Mos 2012\n\n\nTonnes\n\n\n13,608\n\n\n17,463\n\n\n31,969\n\n\n34,596\n\n\nGrades:\n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\nSilver (g/t)\n\n\n627\n\n\n825\n\n\n609\n\n\n884\n\n\nSilver (oz/T)\n\n\n18.29\n\n\n24.06\n\n\n17.76\n\n\n25.78\n\n\nLead (%)\n\n\n6.62\n\n\n7.07\n\n\n6.47\n\n\n6.83\n\n\nZinc (%)\n\n\n10.44\n\n\n13.52\n\n\n10.2...
