About this update from Evraz Plc

[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 3638X Evraz Plc 29 April 2019  \n\nEVRAZ Q1 2019 TRADING UPDATE \n29 April 2019 - EVRAZ plc (LSE: EVR; \"EVRAZ\" or the \"Group\") today released its trading update for the first quarter of 2019. \n \n \nQ1 2019 vs Q4 2018 HIGHLIGHTS\n \n·      In Q1 2019, EVRAZ' consolidated crude steel output climbed by 12.4% QoQ to 3.5 million tonnes, primarily as a result of higher pig iron production following the completion of capital repairs at EVRAZ ZSMK's blast furnace no. 3 at the end of Q4 2018.\n·      Total steel product sales rose by 8.4% QoQ, driven by higher crude steel production. Sales of semi-finished products surged by 29.0%, primarily due to increased pig iron and crude steel output. This was partly offset by a 2.7% reduction in sales of finished products, which was mostly attributable to lower sales of construction products in Russia and tubular and railway products in North America. \n·      Production of raw coking coal remained flat QoQ. In Q1 2019, external sales volumes of coking coal products declined by 4.1% as coking coal concentrate sales subsided from the elevated levels during the longwall repositioning at Yuzhkuzbassugol's Uskovskaya mine in Q4 2018. \n·      Sales of vanadium products fell by 5.3% QoQ, mainly due to a sharp decline of demand from the automotive industry and high stock levels at steel makers, accumulated during a period of sharp FeV price increase.\n \n\n\n\n\nProduct, '000 tonnes \n\n\nQ1 \n2019\n\n\nQ4 \n2018\n\n\nQ1 2019/ Q4 2018, change\n\n\nQ1\n 2018\n\n\nQ1 2019/ Q1 2018, change\n\n\n\n\nTotal crude steel production\n\n\n3,488\n\n\n3,102\n\n\n12.4%\n\n\n3,351\n\n\n4.1%\n\n\n\n\nRussia\n\n\n2,986\n\n\n2,599\n\n\n14.9%\n\n\n2,730\n\n\n9.4%\n\n\n\n\nUkraine\n\n\n0\n\n\n0\n\n\nn/a\n\n\n154\n\n\nn/a\n\n\n\n\nNorth America\n\n\n502\n\n\n503\n\n\n-0.2%\n\n\n467\n\n\n7.5%\n\n\n\n\nTotal raw coking coal mined\n\n\n6,844\n\n\n6,853\n\n\n-0.1%\n\n\n5,969\n\n\n14.7%\n\n\n\n\nTotal coking coal concentrate\nproduction\n\n\n3,684\n\n\n4,221\n\n\n-12.7%\n\n\n4,154\n\n\n-11.3%\n\n\n\n\nIron ore products production\n\n\n3,636\n\n\n3,367\n\n\n8.0%\n\n\n3,431\n\n\n6.0%\n\n\n\n\nTotal sales of steel products *\n\n\n3,187\n\n\n2,939\n\n\n8.4...
