Eurasia Mining PLC
13 December 2002
Eurasia Mining plc is pleased to announce more positive results from drilling on
its palladium-gold Kluevsky project in the Russian Urals. In line with results
from earlier drilling, announced last month, the new holes encountered ore
grades that confirm the potential of the project.
The new results come from the final two holes in Eurasia's latest drilling
programme, KL17 and KL18. Results from KL18 are among the best obtained so far
at Kluevsky.
Eurasia's Director of Operations, Mr Bill Anderson, said: 'The recent drilling
has greatly enhanced our geological knowledge of the Kluevsky play and gives
more encouragement that we can identify areas suitable for open-pit mining.
Excellent grades encountered by hole KL18, south of the main target,
considerably enlarge the area of potential commercial exploitation.'
As with the earlier results, the latest ore grades are similar to those
commercially exploited by open-pit mining in parts of Eastern Canada.
KL17, located towards the western end of the target area, intersected six zones
of at least 1 gram/tonne (g/t), including one intersection of 4.25 metres that
returned 1.68 g/t. The results tie in closely with those announced last month
from KL13, KL14 and KL16. KL 18 intersected 6.2 metres assaying 2.76 g/t of
platinum group metals and gold, including a 1.5-metre section of 8.89 g/t.
