MICHAEL MARTINEAU JOINS EURASIA MINING'S BOARD
The Board of Eurasia Mining PLC is delighted to announce that Dr Michael Peter
Martineau, (56) MA, D Phil, FIMM, has agreed to join the board of the Company
as a Non-Executive Director.
John Mitchell, Chairman of Eurasia Mining, says 'Michael Martineau brings
immense experience of the mining world to the Company. He has had a
distinguished career on the major mining continents of Africa, Australia,
Europe and North America. He has valuable experience on the boards of large
and small public mining companies and a proven record on enhancement of
shareholder value.'
Dr Martineau said, 'Eurasia's recent exploration and assessment activity
should soon reap its just rewards in the historically important Urals Platinum
Belt. The potential is impressive, the political and economic background of
Russia improving and the outlook for platinum group metals remains robust.'
Michael Martineau has a First Class Honours degree and a Doctorate in Geology
from Oxford University and has spent 30 years in the mining and minerals
industry. He was in charge of global exploration for BP Minerals
International later becoming Exploration Director of its Australian listed
subsidiary, Seltrust. In 1987 he joined Cluff Resources PLC, as Director
Minerals and Managing Director of Cluff Mineral Exploration Limited. In 1989
he founded Samax Resources, which he listed on the Toronto Exchange in 1996
and which was acquired by Ashanti Goldfields in 1998 for US$140 million. He
was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Ashanti Goldfields Co. Ltd in 2000.

Michael Peter Martineau has not had any unspent convictions, has not been
declared bankrupt or been the subject of any individual voluntary arrangement.
There has been no public criticism of Michael Peter Martineau by any
statutory or regulatory authority and he has not been disqualified by a court
from acting as a director of a company or from acting in the management or
conduct of the affairs of any company. He has not been a partner of any
partnerships at the time or within 12 months preceding its compulsory
liquidation, administration or partnership voluntary arrangement. Michael
Peter Martineau was a director of Leeds Mineral Services, a private
engineering consultancy company, which was placed into voluntary receivership
within the 12 months after he ceased to be a director.
