[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 8225T Regal Petroleum PLC 12 June 2009 \n\n\n12 June 2009\n\nRegal Petroleum plc\n\nNOT FOR RELEASE, PUBLICATION OR DISTRIBUTION, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, IN \nOR INTO AUSTRALIA, CANADA, JAPAN, THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA OR THE UNITED STATES \n\nResult of Placing - GBP63.4 million (approx $104.7m) raised \n\nRegal Petroleum plc ('Regal' or the 'Company') announces that it has raised GBP63.4 million (approx $104.7m) before commissions and expenses by the conditional placing completed today of 104m new ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the capital of the Company (the 'Placing Shares') with institutional investors at 61 pence per share (the 'Placing'). Merrill Lynch International ('Merrill Lynch') is acting as sole bookrunner in relation to the Placing.\n\nThe Placing represents in aggregate approximately 49.1 per cent. of the issued share capital of Regal prior to the Placing. The Placing Shares will, when issued, rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares of Regal, including the right to receive all dividends and other distributions declared, made or paid after the date of issue.\n\nThe Placing is conditional upon, inter alia, the valid passing of the Resolutions (without amendment) at the General Meeting scheduled for 30 June 2009 and Admission becoming effective. The Placing is also conditional on the Placing Agreement becoming unconditional and not being terminated in accordance with its terms. It is anticipated that the settlement date will be 1 July 2009.\n\nThe Company will apply for admission of the Placing Shares to trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange ('Admission').
