Nova Scotia Power Completes $100 Million Medium Term Note Issue

HALIFAX, May 17 /CNW/ - Today, Nova Scotia Power Inc. completed the issue
of $100 million new Series U Medium Term Notes. The Series U Notes bear
interest at the rate of 4.22% per annum until May 17, 2010. Series U Notes
held to May 17, 2010 will have an effective annual yield of 4.223%.
The Series U Notes were sold through an agency group lead managed by
Scotia Capital Inc., and including CIBC World Markets Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns
Inc., RBC Capital Markets Inc. and TD Securities Inc.
