[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n Sevion Therapeutics, Inc. (“Sevion” or the “Company”) (OTCQB: SVON), a \n biopharmaceutical company which discovers, develops and acquires \n next-generation biologics for the treatment of cancer and immunological \n diseases, has entered into an agreement with Malvern Instruments \n establishing a new biopharmaceutical applications laboratory in the \n heart of San Diego’s biotechnology cluster. The new laboratory will \n enable Sevion Therapeutics and customers of Malvern the experience and \n use Malvern’s range of specialist biophysical characterization systems \n in a working biopharmaceutical environment.\n \n \n Under the terms of the agreement, several different Malvern analyzers \n will be installed in the applications laboratory. Initially, this will \n include two microcalorimeters - the new MicroCal PEAQ-ITC and a MicroCal \n VP-Capillary DSC; a Viscotek TDAmax multi-detector size exclusion \n chromatography system; and a Zetasizer Nano ZSP for the measurement of \n size, electrophoretic mobility of proteins, zeta potential of \n nanoparticles and surfaces, and optionally the microrheology of protein \n and polymer solutions. Further protein characterization technologies \n from Malvern’s portfolio will be installed at future dates.\n \n \n Dr. Jim Graziano, Chief Technology Officer at Sevion Therapeutics, is \n very pleased to be working with Malvern. “This venture provides a great \n opportunity for Sevion Therapeutics to access the latest biophysical \n measurement techniques and to help shape future developments. Malvern \n will provide extensive training and continuing support to our teams, and \n we will benefit both from having extended access to high value \n instrumentation and from Malvern’s technology and applications \n expertise. We’re especially excited to be adding differential scanning \n calorimetry to our armory and to being among the first to use the new \n MicroCal PEAQ-ITC system.”\n \n \n “As evidenced by the work of our Bioscience Development Initiative team, \n Malvern is absolutely committed to providing cutting edge analytical \n instrumentation that meets the needs of the biopharmaceutical industry,” \n said Paul Davies, Global Business Manager at Malvern Instruments. “We \n work very closely with all ...
