(LBE:TSX) (\"Liberty\"\n or the \"Company\") today announced that it has received approval from\n the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to commence repair on the\n company's Redstone Mill tailings storage facility (TSF), a necessary\n component of  Liberty's turn-around strategy and commitment to restart\n operations in the first quarter of 2012.\n\n\n\"November has been an extremely busy and successful month for our\n operations group as they have achieved all of the key milestones\n planned,\" said Chris Stewart, President and CEO of Liberty Mines Inc. \n \"We remain on target to restart our mining and milling operations in Q1\n of 2012, and we are extremely pleased with progress that has been made\n given the substantial amount of work that had to be done to develop a\n solution to our tailings dam issues.\"\n\n\nThe repair work, deemed Phase 1 of the two phase TSF Project, is\n expected to take 10-12 weeks to complete.   Upon completion of this\n phase, all environmental concerns with the existing dam will have been\n addressed and the TSF will be able to safely store mill tailings.   In\n turn, this will allow Liberty to restart operation of the Redstone Mill\n and the McWatters Mine.\n\n\nThe approval was received under the provisions of the Lakes and Rivers\n Improvement Act (LRIA).\n\n\nAs part of its re-habilitating  effort, Liberty Mines has entered into a\n contract with Leo Alarie & Sons Construction of Timmins, ON for the\n repair and upgrade construction work on the TSF.  Site clearing and\n grubbing is currently underway on site, and work is expected to start\n on the dam itself within the next week.  All of the rock fill required\n for completing the Phase 1 work program has already been stockpiled on\n site.\n\n\nThe application for an amendment to the Certificate of Approval for the\n Redstone Mill has also been submitted to the Ministry of Environment\n and it is currently being reviewed.
