[{"type":"text","content":"\n Eleco PLC\n03 August 2007\n\n\nFor release at 07.00 Friday August 3rd 2007\n\n\n Eleco plc\n\n\nPRE-CLOSE PERIOD TRADING UPDATE AND APPOINTMENT OF NOMINATED ADVISER AND BROKER\n\n\nThe Board of Eleco plc today announces its trading update for the year ended 30\nJune 2007. The Group's preliminary results for the year ended 30 June 2007 will\nbe announced on Tuesday, 2 October 2007.\n\n\nTrading\n\nOverall, business and cash generation remained strong in the second half of the\nyear in line with management's expectation and Asta Development, acquired in\nDecember 2006, made an encouraging contribution to profit. As a consequence,\nresults for the year ended 30 June 2007 will be in line with market\nexpectations.\n\nOrders at 1 July 2007 at our Building Systems businesses were significantly\nhigher than last year due principally to a substantial increase in demand for\nBell & Webster Concrete's pre-cast products; the outlook for our Software\nbusinesses has also improved. We therefore enter the current year with\nconfidence.\n\n\nNominated adviser and Broker\n\nIn addition, the Board is pleased to have agreed to the appointment of Collins\nStewart (Europe) Limited as Nominated Adviser and Broker to the Group.\n\n\nJohn Ketteley, Executive Chairman commented:\n\n'Eleco has achieved the growth anticipated by the market and results for the\nyear ended 30 June 2007 will be in line with market expectations.\n\nWe are very well positioned to contribute to the Government's drive to\naccelerate the building of affordable sustainable housing; we are in a strong\nfinancial position; and we look forward with confidence to the year ahead.'\n\n\n3 August 2007\n\n\nTel.
