[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 0012L Eleco PLC 06 August 2013 \n\n \n \n \n \nFor release at 07:00 on 6 August 2013\n \n \nEleco PLC\n(\"Eleco\" or the \"Group\")\nThe Construction Software and Building Systems Group\n \nRe: New Contract\n \n\"ElecoPrecast® secures £2.68m Student Accommodation scheme on the former Tyne Tees Television Studios site in Newcastle\".\nElecoPrecast® Bell & Webster is pleased to announce a new £2.68m order from Northern Developments (Cumbria) Ltd, to manufacture and construct 373 student accommodation rooms at the former Tyne Tees Television Studios site in Newcastle. \nThe £20m high-end student accommodation known as 'The Studios U-Student Village' on Newcastle's City Road will be ready for the start of the 2014/2015 academic year.\nOnce the ground works are complete the new building will comprise of 1680 precast concrete units that will be manufactured off site at Bell & Webster's factory in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Manufacturing commenced in July 2013 with the first delivery and erecting on site anticipated by October, ready for first fix electrics, plumbing and bathroom 'pods' to be installed.\nU-Student has developed and currently manages just under 600 student rooms in Carlisle and Sunderland. The company provides high quality and secure accommodation ranging from standard study rooms through to studio apartments. The company is planning further student developments in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Edinburgh with a target of 3,500 bedrooms by 2018.\n \nExecutive Chairman of Eleco plc, John Ketteley, said:\n \n\"The student housing and hotel sector is showing signs of improvement, resulting in an increase in enquiries for our RoomSolutions™.
