[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n \n \n \n ECR Agrees to Acquire El Abra Historic Gold Mine in La Rioja \n Province, Argentina\n \n \n\n \n ECR Minerals plc\n \n \n\n \n \n \n ECR MINERALS plc(“ECR Minerals”, “ECR” or the “Company”)\n \n \n AIM: ECRUS OTC: MTGDY\n \n \n ECR Minerals plc is pleased to announce that it has agreed to acquire a \n 100% interest in three exploitation concessions comprising the El Abra \n historic small scale gold mine in La Rioja Province, Argentina. The \n Company has also agreed to acquire a 100% interest in an additional \n exploitation concession known as Jazmin located some ten kilometres \n south-southwest of the El Abra mine.\n \n \n Highlights:\n \n \n \n Acquisition extends ECR’s tenement position in the Sierra de las Minas \n area of La Rioja Province\n \n \n Recent geochemical sample at El Abra returned grade of 84.6g/t gold\n \n \n El Abra represents a particularly promising exploration target in \n accordance with ECR’s exploration strategy at Sierra de las Minas, \n which is focused on high grade, smaller tonnage targets potentially \n suitable for development to production on an accelerated timescale\n \n \n \n Patrick Harford, Managing Director of ECR Minerals plc, comments:\n \n \n “Evaluation of the El Abra mine, the site of locally significant \n historical gold production, will be a central part of ECR’s planned \n exploration activities in the Sierra de las Minas area.\n \n \n Exploration fieldwork by ECR will commence at El Abra and at other \n identified prospects within the Company’s Sierra de las Minas tenements \n early in the New Year, and updates on progress will be provided as \n appropriate.”\n \n \n El Abra Mine\n \n \n Historic small scale mine workings at El Abra contain clear indications \n of high grade gold mineralisation in the form of visible gold in several \n areas.\n \n \n The El Abra mineralisation typically occurs as quartz veins with altered \n marginal areas. The veins are from a few centimetres to a few metres \n wide and locally contain very high grade gold values. The altered \n margins are also auriferous, and the combination of veins and margins \n has been historically worked to widths of several metres in some areas.\n \n \n Substantial alluvial mining operations have been conducted in the flats \n to the north and east of El Abra and elsewhere in the region.\n \n \n MPH Consul...
