[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n \n \n \n Commencement of Australian Exploration Programme\n \n \n\n \n ECR Minerals plc\n \n \n\n \n \n \n AIM: ECRUS OTC: MTGDY\n \n ECR MINERALS plc(“ECR” or the “Company”)\n \n COMMENCEMENT OF AUSTRALIAN EXPLORATION PROGRAMME\n \n \n LONDON: 15 JUNE 2017 - The directors of ECR Minerals plc (the \n “Board”) are pleased to announce that its planned exploration drilling \n programme at its Bailieston licence located in Victoria, Australia has \n now commenced.\n \n \n Highlights\n \n \n \n Initial drill programme to test most significant prospects at \n high-priority Byron target within Bailieston licence area has commenced\n \n \n Byron, an historic mine, which produced 4,416oz Au from 8,698t mined \n at an implied grade of 15.5g/t Au\n \n \n ECR is planning to undertake a high-quality low-cost exploration \n programme to test extensions to the known mineralisation at Byron and \n generate additional targets for a more comprehensive programme\n \n \n The Central Victorian Goldfields, one of the premier gold districts in \n the world in terms of production, is estimated to have produced over \n 80.4Moz AU\n \n \n Bailieston licence area is in close proximity to other highly \n successful currently producing gold mines\n \n \n \n Craig Brown, CEO of ECR commented:\n \n \n “The Board of ECR are very excited to begin our exploration programme in \n the Victorian Goldfields; our Bailieston project located in the \n Australian state of Victoria, one of the world’s most prolific gold \n producing regions, is not only in close proximity to two significant \n operating gold mines but the region has a long history of producing \n high-grade material from underground workings.\n \n \n Within Bailieston, our first high priority drill targets remain in the \n proximity of the historic Byron mine where we have identified several \n areas proximal to old workings with good production figures as highly \n prospective targets worthy of immediate testing.\n \n \n ECR has made significant strides forward in recent months and the Board \n strongly believe that our Australian exploration programme in this \n highly prospective district, capably led by Ivor Jones, ECR’s Chief \n Operating Officer and member of the JORC committee, is the first step to \n really beginning to build value for shareholders.\n \n \n Following two successful rounds of...
