(TSX:DFI)\n(\"DFI\" or the \"Company\") is pleased to report progress on its marine diamond\nmining project in Namibia and continuing results from its diamond and gold\nexploration in Liberia.\n\nMarine Diamond Mining\n\nThe recently completed development program in the Diaz Reef section of\nDFI's licenses made recoveries of diamonds of larger average stone size than\nMarshall Fork and significantly, the grade of the area to be mined is\nestimated to be roughly double the previously announced grade for the\nCompany's resource in this area. The successful trenching program in the\nElephant Basin and Reef Edge features has led to mv DF Discoverer returning to\nfull mining mode. The high grade deposit found in Elephant Basin is still open\nto the west and south while the deposit found in Reef Edge is open to the\nnorth. Further development work is planned to expand the area of high grade\nmaterial.\nRoger J. Daniel, President and CEO commented, \"The successful outcome of\nthis development program is very encouraging and improves our flexibility in\nmine planning and should result in improved production and revenue levels\".\nThe Company also reports the results from sales of a total of 2,581\ncarats of diamonds recovered from the trenching program at an average price of\nUS $166, for total gross proceeds of US $428,523. The prices received reflect\ntraditionally thin year-end/ early new year markets for rough goods, however\nthe overall market outlook remains strong.\n\nKimberlite Exploration in Liberia\n\nDiamond Fields is continuing surface evaluation of the initial two of the\nten high priority kimberlite targets so far identified on the Grand Cape\nproperty in western Liberia. 100kg samples of weathered kimberlite material\nfrom three locations will be tested for the presence of diamonds.\nReconnaissance stream sampling is ongoing with about 65% of the property\nsampled to date.\nMicroprobe analysis of kimberlite indicator minerals (KIMs) from sampling\nand pitting indicate that the source kimberlites have sampled the diamond\nstability field and have a high probability of hosting diamonds. The garnet\nsuite includes both lherzolitic and eclogitic compositions, with the\nlherzolitic garnets showing a well-defined trend of increasing Cr(2)O(3) ...
