[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nSYMBOL: DFI\n\n\nVANCOUVER, July 7 /CNW/ - Diamond Fields International Ltd. (DFI:TSX)\n("DFI" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Government of the\nRepublic of Zambia has granted the Company's application for renewal of its\nlarge-scale prospecting license PLLS 311 (the "License") with respect to\ncopper, gold silver, lead and germanium in the Solwezi District of\nnorth-western Province, Zambia.\n\n\nThe License covers an area of more than 444 square kilometers. The\nCompany has completed regional exploration of the License. From a review of\npublished core drilling data undertaken by Gecamines, the Company has been\nable to establish the continuation of the Kipushi ore body into the Republic\nof Zambia over a minimum strike distance of 180 metres traversing the\ninternational border at a depth of approximately 1,000 metres below ground\nlevel. A total of 67l holes have been drilled underground by Gecamines along\nthe 1,132msl drill addit following the southwesterly strike of the Kipushi\norebody in the Republic of Zambia. These are dispersed in 12 drill fans,\ndrilled at 15 metre intervals sub-perpendicular into the strike of the\norebody, which plunges steeply to the northwest. The Gecamines drill data for\nthe Zambian extension to the Kipushi orebody has been modeled using polygonal\nresource estimates between the 1,200msl and 1,570msl levels. At least two\nsphaleritic palaeokarst are contained within the 1,200msl to 1,570msl level on\nthe Zambian side of the border. A third sphalerlitic palaeokarst is partially\nintersected by the international border. Mineralisation is open to the\nsouthwest on the Zambian side of the border. The Company has not independently\nverified the Gecamines drill data at this stage and is thus conservatively\ntreating any resource estimates as "indicated".\n\n\nTwo other areas including the Katwishi anomaly, a defined Cu-Zn target\napproximately 1,200 metres to the northwest of Kipushi, and a zone of\ncupriferous gossans developed near the village of Yowela in the centre of the\nlicense, were extensively sampled and have been evaluated. The Katwishi\nanomaly was previously drilled by American Mineral Fields to a depth of 256\nmetres. Although no economic mineralisation was intersected, statistically\nsignificant levels of copper and zi...
