[{"type":"text","content":"\n Driver Group plc\n16 July 2007\n\n\nDRV.L\n\n Driver Group plc\n\n ('Driver' or 'the Group')\n\n Appointment of New Group Finance Director\n\nDriver is delighted to announce that Colin White has been appointed to the Board\nas Group Finance Director with effect from 1 October 2007. He takes over the\nposition from Peter Cove, who steps down from the Board but remains with the\nGroup as finance director of the Group's principal trading subsidiary, Driver\nConsult.\n\nColin, aged 45, is a chartered accountant with over 20 years' experience in\nfinancial roles. Colin was previously Group Finance Director of Scapa Group plc,\nthe AIM quoted global supplier of technical tapes and cable compounds, which he\njoined in 2001, working there until November 2006. At Scapa Group, Colin jointly\ndeveloped and implemented a new strategy and business model which underpinned\nthe turnaround of the business. Between 1991 and 2001, Colin held a number of\nsenior financial and management roles at subsidiaries of TI Group plc, the\nspecialised engineering group which was acquired by Smiths Industries plc in\n2000. Latterly at TI Group, he was Finance Director of Dowty Aerospace Division,\nhaving been Finance Controller of Dowty North America and Finance and IT\nDirector of Dowty Hydraulics Ltd.\n\nColin qualified as a chartered accountant with Grant Thornton.\n\nCommenting on the appointment, Steve Driver, Chief Executive, said,\n\n'We are delighted to announce Colin's appointment as Group Finance Director.\nColin brings with him a wealth of financial experience and I am confident that\nhe will make a valuable contribution to the Group as we continue with our\nambitious growth plans.\n\nI would also like to thank Peter for his hard work and contribution during his\ntime as Group Finance Director, especially during our float in 2005.
