(TSX: CYM), an innovative materials\ntechnology company, announced today that it has recently been granted\nadditional patent protection in Europe covering its proprietary Low Pressure\nFoam Casting (LPFC(TM)) process. This process is used by Cymat and its\ncommercialization partners to produce Stabilized Aluminum Foam (SAF) near-net\nshape components for the automotive sector.\nAs announced previously (January 25, 2005), the Company has been granted\na corresponding patent in the United States covering this fundamental\ninnovation in SAF manufacturing technology. Together, the patents provide\nprotection for Cymat's proprietary LPFC(TM) technology in both Europe and the\nUnited States through the year 2022. This period exceeds by far the expiry of\nCymat's exclusive global license and patents covering the base SAF process\ntechnology that was developed originally by Alcan and Norsk Hydro. This is\nparticularly significant because the patents extend by approximately 12 years\nthe period during which the Company can earn royalties and fees by licensing\nits proprietary technology.\n\"We are extremely pleased with the issuance of the European patent\naddressing this important advance in our SAF production technology,\" said Dr.\nPaul A.
