("the Company")\n(TSX-V: TIC) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Kevin Moran to the\nCompany's management team as Vice President, Process Development. Dr. Moran\nbrings an extensive oil sands background and is a recognized leader of bitumen\nextraction and recovery technologies.\n\n\nDr. Moran will be responsible for advancing hydrocarbon recovery research\nprograms at the Company's Regina research facility and in concert with the\nCompany's research partners in Canada and the United States to ultimately\ndeliver a commercially viable technology. He will work closely with the\nCompany's minerals technical team to develop an integrated commercial recovery\nsolution for bitumen and minerals. Successful development and delivery of this\ntechnology will have a significant economic and environmental impact for the\noil sands industry and the Company.\n\n\nThe Company currently has research and development programs underway at\nmultiple sites in Canada and the United States. Dr. Moran will be responsible\nfor accelerating these programs from laboratory based solutions through pilot\nfield testing and commercial feasibility to full scale operations.\n\n\nDr. Moran holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of\nAlberta, a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of\nToronto and undergraduate Engineering and Science degrees from the University\nof Western Ontario. He joins the Company from Syncrude Canada Ltd., where he\nmanaged research and pilot programs in oil sands bitumen extraction and froth\ntreatment technologies.\n\n\nDr. Moran will be based in Edmonton, where he will represent the Company\nin oil sands industry forums, Government relationships and research\norganizations.
