In the design under consideration, the waste stream would be\neliminated and an ammonium-nitrate fertilizer generated for sale.\nDr. Shelp stated that, \"This would be the first commercial DesEL\ninstallation for ENPAR, and should lead to numerous mine-related water\ntreatment opportunities, especially given the ever increasing stringency of\nwater quality discharge guidelines.\"\nENPAR's DesEL System is designed to remove dissolved inorganic substances\nsuch as arsenic, ammonia, nitrate, fluoride, cyanide, perchlorate, metals, and\nhardness from drinking water and waste waters.\nThe system has been successfully tested in the CSIR laboratory on several\nindustrial effluents provided by Majuba Power Station, Vaal River Gold Mine,\nGrootvlei Gold Mine, Navigation Section of Landau Colliery, Namakwa Sands\n(Heavy Minerals) and Bafokeng Platinum Mine.\nENPAR will keep its investors informed on a timely basis as to the status\nof the Bafokeng Platinum Mine proposal.\n\nENPAR is a \"Technology Company\" applying its patented and proprietary\n\"Electrochemical Technologies\" to the treatment of waste water and drinking\nwater contaminated by metals or nutrients i.e., nitrate/ammonia associated\nwith the mining, metal processing, chemical, agricultural, municipal and waste\nmanagement sectors.
