ComnetiX(TM) Inc Secures Three-Year Contract With a Major, United States Federal Customer

Company to Partner With Customer to Supply Law Enforcement and Civil Biometric
Technology Software Solutions; Contract Worth More Than $1 Million

TORONTO, Sept. 7 /CNW/ -- ComnetiX(TM) Inc
(Toronto: CXI), a leading provider of biometric identification and
authentication solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a
three-year contract. The contract, initially valued above US $1 million, is
for the Company's proprietary software-centric biometric technology solutions,
including IntelliBook(TM), IntelliServ(TM) and IntelliScreen(TM) products, as
well as various hardware components and maintenance. The system will be used
to screen the backgrounds of new employees.
James P. Scullion, ComnetiX CEO, commented, "We opened our federal sales
office just outside of Washington DC less than one year ago. I am very
pleased to be able to announce this contract, and attribute it to the hard
work of our VP of Sales, Carter Marantette, US Federal Sales Manager, Doug
McCoy, and the entire ComnetiX staff. Although our contract restricts us from
divulging the name of the customer, I can tell you that this is a noteworthy
award -- and partnership -- for us, as it helps identify us as a preferred
vendor in the federal marketplace. We look forward to working with this
customer in its efforts to implement various components of its anti-terrorism
initiative."
The order includes IntelliBook(TM) booking stations to be installed in
23 locations across the United States, as well as an IntelliScreen(TM) (civil
applicant background screening) system, to be installed in its headquarters.
The order also includes printers, print-card scanners, and two IntelliServ(TM)
open image servers.
Scullion also noted that additional orders for the Company's solutions may
be expected for the customer's larger facilities, and that implementation of
the components of the initial contract is scheduled to be completed by early
fall.

About IntelliBook(TM), IntelliScreen(TM) and IntelliServ(TM)
The ComnetiX(TM) Repository for Integrated Criminalistic Imaging,
IntelliBook(TM) is a full featured suite of advanced software for automated
booking and investigative support in law enforcement and criminal justice
applications. The IntelliBook software family allows law enforcement agencies
to efficiently manage the complex process of collecting, editing, submitting,
and retrieving biometric data records for arrested subject processing and for
employment/permit criminal history record checks. The contemporary,
open-systems architecture of IntelliBook enables the rapid evolution of system
business rules that is required to maintain concurrency with ever-changing
State and Federal laws and court decisions. Using the field-proven
IntelliBook system, ComnetiX law enforcement clients have performed
significant re-engineering of their arrest and background check processing to
achieve improved criminal history accuracy and speed response to
identification inquiries, enhancing public safety through more expeditious and
equitable administration of justice.
For criminal history and permit background checks, ComnetiX(TM) developed
its proprietary civil applicant processing system, IntelliScreen(TM) -- the
biometric industry's most comprehensive solution for the management of
identification records and the identification process. IntelliScreen
solutions may be configured to enforce the full range of industry and agency
specific rules fingerprint and photo image capture, text data capture,
electronic record submission and certified hardcopy printing.
ComnetiX(TM) leads the biometric industry with its versatile Open Image
Server technology, known as IntelliServ(TM). This contemporary database
technology expands capabilities well beyond traditional transient "Store and
Forward" (S&F) systems by providing a full range of functionality from record
queuing to archival storage of records in standards compliant format. The
IntelliServ system is designed to intercede in the work flow between civil
applicant and booking workstations (where fingerprints, photos, signatures and
document images are captured) and the back-end Automated Fingerprint
Identification Systems (AFIS) at central agency sites. ComnetiX IntelliServ
normally accepts NIST encoded electronic submissions from remote capture
workstations and stores all of the received images and text according to open
standards. It can then deliver fingerprint records to one or more AFIS hosts
and retain records to make them available for secure agency data sharing and
ad hoc investigation support.
