ComnetiX(TM) Announces Collaborative Relationship With Promissor, a Leading National Assessment Provider

Fingerprint Background Check Required for Many License Applicants

TORONTO, Aug. 9 /CNW/ -- ComnetiX(TM) Inc (TSX: CXI), a
leading provider of biometric identification and authentication solutions,
announced that it has entered into a collaborative relationship with Promissor
Inc, one of the nation's leading applicant-assessment firms and a subsidiary
of Houghton Mifflin Company, to work together to provide electronic
fingerprinting services for license candidates that require criminal-history
background checks. Most states require state and/or federal criminal-history
background checks using fingerprints for a variety of occupational and
professional licenses such as real estate, insurance, nursing, education and
others.
This relationship will enable license applicants to enjoy the convenience
of an 'end-to-end' solution whereby they can be fingerprinted immediately
after receiving their assessment score for a specific license, and in some
cases, even walk out with a temporary license. To launch the relationship,
ComnetiX and Promissor will collaborate to provide live scan fingerprinting
services to approximately 60,000 Florida Department of Business and
Professional Regulation (DBPR) license applicants from agencies including the
Florida Real Estate Commission, Community Association Managers, and Building
Code Administrators, among others.
ComnetiX and Promissor will offer fingerprinting services at fifteen of
Promissor's Florida assessment centers to service DBPR license candidates.
Fingerprints will be acquired and submitted electronically to the Florida
Department of Law Enforcement, with all submission and receipt records being
integrated into the license applicant's individual file. ComnetiX has
recently installed similar fingerprint collection networks for background
checks in a variety of environments, most recently for assessing candidates
for driving licenses for hazardous materials (HazMat), following a US
Transportation Security Administration mandate to background-check all such
drivers throughout the USA.
"ComnetiX is well-respected throughout North America for their expertise
in fingerprint solutions, and they have proven themselves to be extremely
competent in quickly rolling out broad-based fingerprinting services," said Al
Turano, Promissor Product Development Director. "We're happy to be working
with a company at the forefront of its industry in both technology and
customer service."
James P. Scullion, ComnetiX CEO, commented, "We are excited to work with
Promissor to deliver what we believe will be the best assessment and licensing
product in the nation. Many states are requiring background checks as part of
the licensing process, and time and budget demands on agency personnel and
individuals warrant that these take place in one sitting. We look forward to
supporting Promissor in their efforts to provide industry leading services
that provide high value-add for the state itself as well as license
applicants."
