Costain is responsible for design development and construction, which is estimated to be valued at £34 million. \nThe project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety for the local community and road users by upgrading the current single carriageway road to a dual carriageway, with new bridges and junction improvements.\nIn view of its contribution to the economic growth of the region, and in support of the Government's National Infrastructure Plan, the scheme was selected as one of the Highways Agency's accelerated delivery projects.
