Results showed the compound's high\n potential for the treatment of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone\n (LHRH) receptor positive tumors. Data were presented by the Company's\n Director of Preclinical Development, Babette Aicher, PhD, during a\n poster presentation at the 24th EORTC-NCI-AACR (ENA) Symposium on \"Molecular Targets and Cancer\n Therapeutics\", currently held in Dublin, Ireland. The study is funded\n through a grant from the German Ministry of Education and Research.\n\n\nJuergen Engel, PhD, Aeterna Zentaris President and CEO stated,\n \"Disorazol Z cytotoxic conjugates such as AEZS-125, are an extension of\n our AEZS-108 innovative LHRH receptor targeted platform in oncology.\n These encouraging results presented at the ENA Symposium will enable us\n to select a specific drug candidate for further preclinical development\n expected to start in the first quarter of 2013.\"\n\n\nConclusions\n\n\nAll conjugates of D-Lys6 -LHRH and disorazol Z analyzed, demonstrated high potential\nregarding the treatment of LHRH-receptor positive tumors;\n\n\nFor all conjugates, including AEZS-125, proof-of-concept could be\n demonstrated in an\nLHRH-receptor positive A2780 ovarian cancer xenograft model;\n\n\nExperiments are currently under way addressing:\n\n\nCorrelation of tumor LHRH-receptor expression and treatment efficacy;\n\n\nEvaluation of additional tumor models, such as endometrium and\n triple-negative breast cancer;\n\n\nAssessment of early safety parameters and orientating acute toxicity in\n rodent models.\n\nThe poster, \"Highly Potent Cytotoxic Conjugates of Disorazol Z Linked to a\n LHRH-Receptor Targeting Peptide such as AEZS-125, Interfere with Cell\n Cycle Progression in Human Cancer Cell Lines and Suppress Tumor Growth\n in a LHRH-Receptor Positive Ovarian Cancer Xenograft Model\", B.
