[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 8014Z Coro Energy PLC 15 January 2020 \n\n15 January 2020\nCoro Energy plc\n(\"Coro\" or the \"Company\")\n \n Directorate Change\n \nCoro Energy plc, the Southeast Asian focused upstream oil and gas company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Nick Cooper as an independent non-executive director, with immediate effect. \n \nDr Cooper began his career as a geophysicist with BG and Amoco in the UK and various international locations. He then worked with the energy team at Booz-Allen & Hamilton and the oil and gas advisory team at Goldman Sachs. In 2005 Dr Cooper co-founded and became CFO of London listed Salamander Energy plc, an Asia-focussed exploration and production company. In 2011 he joined Ophir Energy plc, a London listed, international exploration and production company, as CEO which he ran until stepping down in 2018.\n \nDr Cooper holds a Bachelor of Science in Geophysical Sciences from the University of Leeds, a PhD in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Leicester and an MBA from INSEAD.\n \nCommenting on the appointment, James Parsons, Chairman, said:\n \n\"I am delighted that Nick is joining the Board at an exciting time for Coro. His extensive industry and highly relevant regional experience will add hugely to our strategic deliberations and transaction expertise as we look to address the many opportunities that are emerging in South East Asia.
