[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\nTORONTO, Aug. 17 /CNW/ - COGITORE Resources Inc. (the \"Company\")\n(WOO: TSX-V) is pleased to report the discovery of copper-bearing stringer\nsulphides at the Company's 100% owned Scott Lake Project in Quebec. The\ndiscovery was made while deepening hole SL-93-105, which was originally\ndrilled in 1993 to a depth of 852 metres. Stringer sulphides, including\nchalcopyrite and sphalerite, were intersected in varying amounts from 982m to\n1076m, i.e. over a core length of 94 metres. Very encouraging copper values\nwere obtained in these stringers, such as 2.54% Cu over 6.83 metres and 9.67%\n Cu & 42.42 g/t Ag over 1.50 metres.\nCompany President GDerald Riverin, Ph.D., P. Geo. stated \"We are very\npleased with the copper content, the high copper to zinc ratios, the high\nsilver content and the thickness of the interval of this new stringer zone.\nThe potential intersection point between the stringers and the nearby new\nmassive sulphide horizon discovered in SC-04 and SC-05 makes a prime\nexploration target which we will aggressively pursue in forthcoming weeks.\"\nAssays are still incomplete due to the exceptional work load at\nCogitore's primary assay laboratory, which is located out-of-province. \nSamples from four visually better-mineralized sections were rushed to a second\nlaboratory and the highlights of the assay results are tabulated below as\nweighted averages:\n\n>\n\nDetailed assays are presented in Table 1 and the piercing points of drill\nholes testing the interpreted sulphide horizon are shown in the attached\nlongitudinal section.(http://files.newswire.ca/512/ScottLakeLongSection.jpg)\nThe decision to deepen SL-93-105 was based on review of old borehole Pulse\nElectromagnetic Survey (PEM) data obtained by a previous operator, as the\nCompany interpreted the presence of a conductor beyond the hole bottom.\nSL-93-105, which had been stopped in intrusive rocks, was deepened from 852m\nto 1089m and went through 66 metres of intrusive rock before re-entering\naltered felsic volcanics at 918m. The sulphide stringers intersected in hole\nSL-93-105A are hosted in altered felsic volcanics which may be correlated with\nthose found just above the massive sulphides in recent hole SC-05 (see Press\nRelease of August 11, 2006).\nA borehole (PEM) was done in the deepened SL-93-105A hole. Results\nsuggest that the...
