[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n 8 December 2008\n\n Conroy Diamonds and Gold Plc \n\n (\"Conroy\" or \"the Company\") \n\n AIM: CDG \n\n AGM statement and results of annual general meeting \n\n CONROY CHAIRMAN HIGHLIGHTS ONE MILLION OUNCE \n\n CLONTIBRET GOLD RESOURCE AT ANNUAL MEETING \n\n * \"A Minimum Figure That Will Grow As Our Exploration Progresses\"\n \n * Basis For Conceptual And Pre-Feasibility Studies To Be Initiated\n \n * Further Gold Targets Along Trend\n \n\"Our main focus in the past year has been the ongoing assessment and evaluation\nof our Clontibret gold target in Co Monaghan where we have established a gold\nresource of over 1 million ounces\", Conroy Chairman, Professor Richard Conroy\ntold the annual meeting today.\n\nFor the past several years, the AIM-listed Company has expressed a firm belief\nthat its exploration results continue to point to the possibility of a new gold\nprovince on its Irish licences, and the progress achieved in the past year has\nonly strengthened this belief, he said.\n\nThe highlight of 2008, announced shortly after the financial year-end, was\nconfirmation that indicated and inferred resources of more than 1 million\nounces of gold had been outlined at relatively shallow depth at Clontibret.\nThese resources, comprising a combination of narrower high-grade lode zones and\na more extensive lower grade stockwork, are confined to only one fifth of the\ntotal target area at Clontibret, and infill drilling is expected to increase\nboth the size and grade of this resource.\n\n\"We are also confident that drilling in the remaining four fifths of the\nClontibret target will add at least as much gold as we have already discovered.\nIn addition, it is worth noting that the mineralisation remains open at depth.\nFurthermore a series of other gold targets along trend have been discovered by\nyour Company some of which have a larger surface area than Clontibret\"\n\n\"You may also recall that last month we announced an unexpected discovery at\nClontibret, made during the drilling of a hole to confirm the presence of the\nstockwork at depth. This hole intersected four previously unknown gold lode\nzones which overlie the stockwork and extend into a new area some 50m east of\nthe previously discovered gold lodes.
