PETER CUNARD TO JOIN BOARD OF CRESTON PLC
The board of Creston PLC announces that Peter Cunard is to join the Creston
board with immediate effect as a non-executive director.
Creston plc, a FTSE-listed company, re-launched itself earlier this year as a
marketing services group. It immediately bought Marketing Sciences Limited, a
market research company, and has just completed the acquisition of The Real
Adventure, a Bath-based marketing consultancy, as part of its 'buy-and-build'
strategy.
Peter Cunard, 56, has been in the communications industry for over 30 years.
During the 1960s he worked in commercial television, theatre management and
the stately home industry. From 1973-76 he headed the PR division of Trust
House Forte before moving into PR consultancy in 1976. In 1980 he founded
what was to become one of the fastest growing UK consultancies, Granard
Communications, which was acquired by Saatchi & Saatchi in 1986. He became
chief executive of the enlarged Saatchi & Saatchi PR group, the Rowland
Company, and was a member of the Rowland Group's worldwide board from
1989-92. He represented the PR industry during this period as a board member
of the industry trade body, the PRCA. He is currently a personal
communications adviser to a number of individuals and public companies,
including Sigma Technology and FTV Group.
Welcoming the appointment, Creston chief executive Don Elgie said: 'Peter
Cunard brings vital new expertise to our board. We will benefit greatly from
his huge knowledge of public relations and extensive business experience. His
contribution will be invaluable to us as we seek to build Creston into a
major force in marketing services within the next five years'.
