[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 0415M Cohort PLC 20 August 2013 \n \n\n \n \nCohort plc\n \n(\"Cohort\" or \"the Group\")\n \nSEA awarded £11m contract to supply further External Communications Systems\n \nCohort, the independent technology group, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary SEA has been awarded a contract by BAE Systems, to provide two External Communications Systems for the Astute submarine programme, with a value of approximately £11m.\n \nThe two systems are intended for Astute Boat 6 (HMS Agamemnon) and the unnamed Boat 7. The contract builds on the work already under way to provide the same system for Boat 3 (Artful), 4 (Audacious) and 5 (Anson). SEA will work with its partners Aish Technologies Ltd, Selex ES and Thales UK to deliver these systems.\n \n \nAndrew Thomis, Chief Executive of Cohort plc said:\n \n\"This is excellent news for SEA and the Group, and a further success for this important system. Nuclear submarines make a vital contribution to the defence of the UK, and SEA's External Communications System relays everything from family messages for the crew to critical mission orders. For SEA's technology to be used in such an important role is a clear demonstration of trust from our customer, and a testament to the skills and expertise of our engineers. This order improves our revenue visibility for the current year, building on the position set out in our recent announcement of results for 2012/13.\"\n \nFor further information, please contact\n \n\n\n\n\nCohort plc \n \n\n\nAndrew Thomis, Chief Executive\nSimon Walther, Finance Director\n \n\n\n+44 (0)118 909 0390\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInvestec \n\n\nKeith Anderson, Daniel Adams\n \n\n\n+44 (0)20 7597 5970\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMHP Communications \n\n\nReg Hoare, Vicky Watkins, Ben Griffiths\n\n\n+44 (0)20 3128 8100\n\n\n\n\n \n \nCohort plc (www.cohortplc.com) (@Cohortplc) \n \nCohort is an independent technology group working primarily for defence (air, land and sea), wider government and industry clients, through three market-facing subsidiary companies:\nŸ MASS (www.mass.co.uk) - a specialist systems house with considerable experience in the defence market and a focus on information systems.
