Unique opportunity: Traffic Hosts - Cogeco Diffusion Inc.

MONTREAL, Aug. 10, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Cogeco Diffusion Inc. is currently looking for a full-time Traffic Hosts for its project of a new station entirely dedicated to traffic, road conditions and mass transit, Traffic Radio. Reporting to the Director of Operations, successful candidate shall have the following responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor the overall metropolitan road network using Transports Québec cameras, and ensure on-air delivery, live or recorded, of a summary in a few minutes.
• See to the preparation, hosting and continuous production of the Traffic Radio station.
• Host his own programming segments by describing road network condition and/or traffic jams.
• Conduct occasional live or recorded interviews.
• Ensure the quality of information and proper production of outside broadcasts.
• Maintain links with Transports Québec personnel and/or any other Traffic Radio partner.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• College study certificate in radio hosting or any other equivalent training
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar position
• Thorough knowledge of geography and the metropolitan road network
• In-depth knowledge of the field of hosting
• Proficiency in the following software: Microsoft Office suite and Outlook
• Demonstrated ability to convey information in layman's terms
• Excellent communication and improvisation skills
• Strong public speaking skills
• Highly skilled at managing several tasks and/or pieces of information simultaneously
• Able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent knowledge of the English language
• Bilingualism, an asset
