This year's theme,\n \n Planting Roots in Our Communities\n \n , includes tree-planting events across regions in\n \n Ontario\n \n and\n \n Quebec\n \n that are served by Cogeco, and multiple states in the U.S. that are served by its business unit, Atlantic Broadband.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n These events support several local non-profit organizations, which include\n \n \n Conservation Halton\n \n \n ,\n \n \n Grimo Nut Nursery\n \n \n ,\n \n \n Trees for\n \n Nipissing\n \n \n \n ,\n \n \n Nature-Action Québec\n \n \n ,\n \n \n Association du mont\n \n Rougemont\n \n \n \n \n ,\n \n \n \n 3R Durable\n \n \n and\n \n \n Arbor Day Foundation\n \n \n that work to protect, restore and manage natural resources. This is in perfect alignment with Cogeco's commitment to provide strong environmental stewardship.\n \n \n Highlights of this year's initiative include:\n \n \n \n 740 participants across Cogeco;\n \n \n In 46 communities;\n \n \n Who are planting 1,879 trees or seeds (that will, over the next 10 years, absorb approximately 109 tons of greenhouse gas emissions);\n \n \n To support 16 non-profit organizations;\n \n \n In 2 countries, 2 provinces and 7 states.\n \n \n \n The tree-planting activities highlight two key pillars of Cogeco's Corporate Social Responsibility program — to take part in developing its communities and to manage its environmental footprint.
