ANNOUNCEMENT

The following notification has been sent today by Guinness Peat Group plc ("GPG") to the Takeover Panel in connection with GPG's interest in the shares of Chrysalis PLC.

"Disclosure of interest in the shares of Chrysalis PLC ("Chrysalis") pursuant to Rule 8.3 of the Takeover Code

Guinness Peat Group plc and its subsidiary companies ("the Group") confirm that on 15 November 2010 its opening position in the ordinary shares of Chrysalis ("Shares") consists of 9,412, 438 Shares, representing 14.02% of the Shares of Chrysalis.

No member of the Group is party to any agreement or arrangement relating to the exercise of any rights conferred by its holding of the interests the subject of this notification."
