[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 6167H Clarkson PLC 06 November 2008  \n \n\n\n6 November 2008\n\nClarkson PLC\n('Clarksons' or 'the Group')\n\nBoard Appointments\n\nClarkson PLC, the world's leading integrated shipping services group, is pleased to announce the appointment of James Morley as a Non Executive Director.  He will join the Board with immediate effect and take over the Chairmanship of the Audit Committee.\n\nMr. Morley is a chartered accountant with over 30 years of experience as an executive Board member at both listed and private companies, primarily in the insurance sector. Most recently, Mr. Morley was Chief Operating Officer of Primary Insurance Group (2006 - 2007). Prior to this, he was Group Finance Director at Cox Insurance Holdings (2002 - 2005), Group Financing Director at Arjo Wiggins Appleton plc (1999 - 2001) and Group Executive Director (Finance) at Guardian Royal Exchange (1990 - 1999).  Mr. Morley started his career at Arthur Andersen & Co and was both Deputy Chief Executive and Group Finance Director at AVIS Europe plc, where he worked from 1976 to 1989.  \n\nMr. Morley currently holds Non Executive Directorships at Costain Group plc, The Innovation Group plc and WS Atkins plc.  In the past five years, Mr. Morley was Group Finance Director at Cox Insurance Holdings Plc (2002 - 2005) and held a Non Executive Directorship at The Bankers Investment Trust PLC (1994 - February 2008).  Clarksons confirm that there are no other disclosures to be made in respect of Mr. Morley, pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.\n\nThe responsibilities of Clarkson's other Non Executive Directors are also changed as follows, with immediate effect: Paul Wogan will become Senior Independent Director and Ed Warner will take over Chairmanship of the Remuneration Committee.\n\nAndi Case, Chief Executive Officer of Clarkson commented: 'I am very pleased to welcome James to the Group.  His long experience of working on public company Boards in finance focused positions brings additional expertise to the work of our audit committee and to the Board.' \n\n\nEnquiries:\n\n\n\n\n\nClarkson PLC\nAndi Case, Chief Ex...
