[{"type":"text","content":"\n Character Group PLC\n30 January 2006\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIssued by Citigate Dewe Rogerson Ltd, Birmingham\nDate: Monday, 30 January 2006\n IMMEDIATE RELEASE\n\n\n The Character Group plc\n ('The Group')\n\n Circular to Shareholders re:\n\n •Proposals for the Sale of the Digital Products Division of World Wide\n Licenses Limited ('WWL')\n\n •Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting\n\n •Notice of Annual General Meeting\n\n\nThe Group announces that it will today be posting to Shareholders a Circular\nrelating to the proposed disposal of the Digital Products Division of WWL (the\n'Digital Business') as announced on 25 January 2006.\n\nThe Digital Business owned by WWL is based in Hong Kong. Its key role is the\ndesign and development of digital interactive products for global distribution.\nWWL entered the digital camera market in June 2000, and has rapidly become a\nsignificant supplier in this dynamic category, with its total shipment of\ndigital cameras well in excess of two million units worldwide.\n\nIn the financial year ended 31 August 2005, the Digital Business recorded profit\nbefore tax of approximately £0.8 million.
