[{"type":"text","content":"\n RNS Number : 2277Y Ceres Power Holdings plc 20 December 2010 \n \n\n \n \n \n \n20 December 2010\n \nCeres Power Holdings plc\n \n \nCHP PRODUCT RECEIVES CE SAFETY APPROVAL\n \n \nCeres Power Holdings plc ('Ceres', 'Ceres Power' or the 'Company'), announces that it has obtained 'CE' safety approval for its wall-mounted fuel cell Combined Heat and Power ('CHP') product to be installed and operated in occupied homes as part of the company's field trials under the residential CHP programme with British Gas.\nThe CE certification process was conducted by Europe's leading independent fuel cell technology and gas appliance certification specialist Kiwa Gastec, based in the Netherlands. Ceres Power has received confirmation from Kiwa Gastec that the CHP product has satisfied the requirements for the Gas Appliance Directive (GAD) and that the formal CE certificate is expected to be issued shortly following completion of the administrative process.\nAs part of the certification process, Ceres Power also worked with Kiwa Gastec and other notified bodies to satisfy the associated requirements of the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) for a residential CHP product.\nCeres Power expects deployment of CHP products into people's homes to start in January 2011 as part of commercial field trials.\nPeter Bance, Chief Executive Officer of Ceres Power, commented; \"Successfully obtaining CE safety approval for Ceres Power's wall-mounted CHP product is a significant milestone for the Company as part of our residential CHP programme with British Gas.
