[{"type":"text","content":"\n\nCorrection - interim dividend payment date disclosure\n \nCentrica plc\n(\"the Company\")\n28 July 2023\n \nCorrection to a date in Note 10 of the Company's half year results announcement released at 07:00am on 27 July 2023 under RNS number 3508H (\"the Announcement\"). The final sentence of Note 10 of the Announcement stated that the interim dividend will be paid to those shareholders registered on 5 October 2023. Consistent with the financial calendar set out in the Announcement, the interim dividend will be paid to those shareholders registered on 6 October 2023 (the record date), not 5 October 2023 (the ex-dividend date).\n \nThere are no other changes to the Announcement.\n \nThe corrected Note 10 is restated below for reference and a copy of the corrected Announcement will shortly be published on the Company's website: https://www.centrica.com/investors/results-centre/2023-interim-results/\n \n10. Dividends\n\n\n\nDividends represent the return of profits to shareholders. Dividends are paid as an amount per ordinary share held. The Group retains part of the profits generated to meet future investment plans or to fund share repurchase programmes.\n\n\n\n \nNo dividends were paid during the period to 30 June 2023 (30 June 2022: £nil). The 2022 final dividend of 2.00 pence per ordinary share was approved at the Annual General Meeting, and was paid on 20 July 2023 to shareholders on the register on 9 June 2023. An accrual of £113 million was held on balance sheet at 30 June 2023 for this liability.\n \nThe Directors propose an interim dividend of 1.33 pence per ordinary share (totalling £74 million) for the six months ended 30 June 2023.
