[{"type":"text","content":"\n Angle PLC\n28 November 2006\n\n\n\nFor Immediate Release 28 November 2006\n\n ANGLE PLC\n \n VENTURES UPDATE\n\nANGLE plc, the venture management and consulting company specialising in the\ncommercialisation of technology, is holding a Showcase of its IP and Development\nPipeline at the University of Reading today and will be updating the market on\nprogress.\n\nThe purpose of the visit is to provide the audience with an opportunity to\nenhance their understanding of ANGLE's 20 year strategic partnership with the\nUniversity of Reading ('University') as announced on 27 July 2006. Professor\nCarl Stychin, Pro Vice Chancellor of Enterprise, will provide background on the\nUniversity of Reading's research activities as a top 200 world university and a\ntop 20 UK research-led university with £162 million income in 2006/07, 17,500\nstudents and 4,000 staff.\n\nTwo specific areas of research, which are receiving close attention from ANGLE,\nwill be showcased. Dr James Anderson of the Department of Computer Science will\ndiscuss his Transreal arithmetic and its applications in computing and Professor\nEdman Tsang of the Department of Chemistry will present on his portfolio of\nresearch in nanomaterials, with a broad range of potential applications from\ncatalysis to data storage.\n\nANGLE will also be presenting progress in two of its existing portfolio\ncompanies, Geomerics and Synature.\n\nGeomerics, which has created market-leading graphics software for the games\nindustry, will announce the launch of its enhanced radiosity product, bringing\nmovie quality lighting to real time computer games. Geomerics has already\ngenerated strong interest in its radiosity product from computer games\ndevelopers.\n\nGeomerics now has forged links with many of the key industry participants, and\nwill be announcing that it has been selected to join Microsoft Xbox 360 Tools\nProgram. Participation in these key industry programmes is a major step towards\nthe integration of Geomerics' technology in the hardware platforms of the\nfuture.\n\nSynature, which is developing next generation internet target marketing and\nsocial networking software, will announce the launch of its product with two\nearly stage customers, a leading portal for marketers and a social networking\nsite, which are using the product to promote interaction between its users,\ncr...
