[{"type":"text","content":"\n Angle PLC\n24 January 2006\n\n\nFor Immediate Release 24 January 2006\n\n\n ANGLE plc\n\n\n Contract Extension: Innovation Support Project with the\n\n London Development Agency\n\n\nANGLE plc, the venture management and consulting company specialising in the\ncommercialisation of technology is pleased to announce that it has won a\ncontinuation of the SME Innovation Support Project with the London Development\nAgency for a further two years. The project extension has a total contract value\nof £2.2 million, of which £800,000 is ANGLE fees with the balance being grants\nto companies and project expenditure. The contract extension runs from January\n2006 for 27 months.\n\nThe extension of the SME Innovation Support Project, which is part-funded by the\nEuropean Regional Development Fund, builds on the successful delivery of\nconsulting work provided by ANGLE to over 50 SME organisations. The aim is now\nto work with over 150 companies to generate over 50 products, stimulating\ninnovation within the London Objective area by providing easier access to\nexpertise, particularly from London's universities and research institutions.\n\nThe Innovation Support Project also addresses local needs by increasing\ncompetitiveness of SMEs through improved innovation and technology assistance.\nSpecifically, it aims to:\n\n• Raise understanding of innovation and the benefits it can bring to a\nbusiness;\n\n• Help SMEs to identify innovation needs and opportunities;\n\n• Facilitate links to sources of innovation and knowledge and support\nthe transfer and exploitation of knowledge;\n\n• Provide small scale grant funding to encourage SMEs to implement and\nexploit identified knowledge and innovation opportunities;\n\n• Encourage collaborative innovation and technology transfer between\nacademic and research institutions and business;\n\n• Build on the success of the current project to develop a pan-London\ndelivery model.\n\n\nAndrew Newland, Chief Executive of ANGLE plc said:\n\n'We are delighted to have been awarded this significant contract extension,\nwhich highlights the success that we are presently experiencing in our UK\nconsulting business and strengthens our platform for ventures activity.'\n\n\nFor further information\n\nANGLE plc +44 1483 295830\nAndrew Newland, Chief Executive\nIan Griffiths, Finance Director\n\nBuch...
