Angle PLC 03 August 2004 For Immediate Release 3 August 2004 ANGLE plc COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITY OF YORK FOUNDING OF IVF TECHNOLOGY VENTURE ANGLE plc, the venture management and consulting company specialising in the commercialisation of technology, is pleased to announce that ANGLE Technology has signed a collaboration agreement with the University of York and its emerging biotech business Cellutions Ltd. Under the new agreement, ANGLE has an option for 18 months to intellectual property (IP) developed in the laboratory of Professor Henry Leese. This IP promises to enable doctors to identify the viability of embryos leading to successful pregnancy in the first stage of IVF treatment. The technology, based on the analysis of the embryo's amino acid profile, has the potential to deliver major financial and emotional cost benefits by making single embryo transfer a realistic target and thereby reducing the incidence of multiple births. As part of its Venture activity, ANGLE has formed a new company, Novocellus Ltd, to manage the technology commercialisation. In accordance with the Progeny(R) process, Novocellus will be fully funded by ANGLE. Typically, Progeny(R) companies require funding of £500,000 during the option period.
