International Packaging and Labelling Powerhouse Acquires New Healthcare Capability in Europe and USA Stock Symbol:TSX - CCL.A and CCL.NV.B TORONTO, Sept. 15 /CNW/ - CCL Industries, a world leader in specialty packaging solutions for the consumer products and healthcare industries, has acquired Inprint Systems Ltd., headquartered in Ashford, England. Already the largest provider of labels in both North America and Europe, the acquisition expands CCL's capacity in the higher margin European Healthcare sector. "In addition to the increasing role that packaging and labelling play in branding and marketing strategies for consumer products, more and more marketers including those in Healthcare are looking for innovative ways to provide expanded content and information on product labels," said Don Lang, Vice Chairman and CEO of CCL Industries. "We recently stepped up our plans to expand in this key area with the sale of our Canadian custom manufacturing interests. The acquisition of Inprint, with its increased capacity in specialty healthcare label products, represents a deployment of some of the cash from that sale." Inprint, with plants in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy and the USA, had revenues of C$53 million in 2004. The purchase price of approximately C$64 million was paid in cash.
