CCL Releases Record Annual Results and Increases Dividend By 17%

[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nTORONTO, Feb. 28 /CNW/ -\n\n\nFebruary 28, 2008\n\n\nDear Shareholder:\n\n\nPlease find enclosed the Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2007 Press Release\nfor CCL Industries Inc.\n\n\nYour Company continued to enjoy strong growth in its businesses and\nposted record earnings in 2007. Since our last report to you, we have\ncontinued to expand geographically by partnering in Russia to form a joint\nventure focused on our global label customers, particularly in the personal\ncare and beverage sectors. In addition, we have expanded our pressure\nsensitive label product lines by entering the durable label business with the\nacquisition of CD Design in Germany. This business provides highly technical\nand decorated labels to the automotive industry.\n\n\nEffective with the Annual General Meeting on May 8, 2008, I am pleased\nthat Donald Lang will be replacing me as Executive Chairman of the Board and\nGeoffrey Martin will advance to replace Mr. Lang as President and Chief\nExecutive Officer. I look forward to maintaining my active involvement in CCL\nby continuing to provide my independent guidance as Lead Director to your\nBoard of Directors.\n\n\nAs a result of the strong operating performance and cash flows in 2007\nand the solid financial position of the Company, your Board of Directors is\nvery pleased to approve a 17% increase in the quarterly dividend payable on\nMarch 31, 2008. The quarterly dividend will now be $0.14 per Class B\nnon-voting share and $0.1275 per Class A voting share.\n\n\nConference calls with our stakeholders are held following the release of\nour quarterly results and when significant events require additional\ncommunication. These calls are made to ensure that all stakeholders are kept\ncurrent with our business developments and to support our good corporate\ngovernance practices.
