[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nICX:TSX.V\n\n\nABBOTSFORD, BC, June 19 /CNW/ - ICS COPPER SYSTEMS LTD. (ICX:TSX.V) is\npleased to announce that the 2007 oxide copper drilling program is underway at\nthe Mokambo Mine, 15 kilometers northeast of Mufulira in the famous Copperbelt\nDistrict of the Republic of Zambia.\n\n\nThe Mokambo Mine is under a joint venture agreement between ICS Copper\nSystems Ltd. (the operator) and North Western Plant Hire Ltd (a private\nZambian company). The 2007 drill program, expected to extend over 6 months,\nwill delineate the oxide copper mineralized cap that is prevalent in all the\nCopperbelt mines. The oxide cap at the Mokambo Mine has not been defined by\ndrilling. The main lithologic sequence to be explored under the current drill\nprogram will be the Lower Roan Series rocks. These rocks historically have\nhosted the majority of the copper in the mines throughout the Copperbelt. The\nsecondary focus will be the Upper Roan Series rocks. It is known that this\nstratigraphic unit, in the Mufulira Syncline, contains cobalt mineralization.\n\n\nAn estimated 10,300 meters of NWT and BWT sizes of core will be drilled\nin approximately 115 shallow (100 meters) holes over the entire length of the\nconcession. The flooded 1975 exploration shaft will supply water for the drill\nand for domestic use. The shaft will eventually be pumped out and utilized as\nan escapeway and ventilation shaft when the sulphide copper mineralization is\nmined using underground mining methods.\n\n\nAfter the near surface mineralization is defined, and tonnages and grades\nare confirmed, it will be extracted by the open pit method and metallurgically\ntreated using EMEW electrowinning technology which has been successfully\ndemonstrated by ICS in the Democratic Republic of Congo over the last two\nyears.\n\n\nON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS\n\n\n"Graham A.
