Purchase of Own Securities

Carclo PLC 22 January 2001 CARCLO PLC ('Carclo') Carclo plc announces that on 19 January 2001, it purchased, through Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, 1,000,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in Carclo at 120p per share. The purchase represents approximately 1.84 per cent. of Carclo's issued ordinary share capital.
