Mark built Office Club to $350 million in\n sales, 52 stores and took the company public (NASDAQ) in 1989. In 1990\n Office Club was designated as \"Company of the Year\" and Begelman was\n awarded Ernest and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year. In 1991 Mr.\n Begelman was named \"Financial News\" CEO of the Year. In 1991 Mark\n merged Office Club with Office Depot and took over as President of the\n combined companies. Under his direction, sales rose from $900 million\n to $5.5 billion and grew to 462 stores in only 4 years.\n\n\nBuilding on a lifelong interest in music, he then established (in 1995)\n a new business know as MARS Music, essentially a superstore for musical\n instruments.
