The government\n will be re-locating the newly appointed Vice Minister of Non-Renewable\n Natural Resources, Ing. Federico Auquilla, to a new office complex in\n Zamora Ecuador; located about 8 kilometres from Nambija, where Canuc's\n mining operations are located. Ing. Auquilla is well known in the\n Mining Sector and is most supportive of the mining industry. Ing.\n Auquilla will be accompanied by approximately 200 support staff.\n\n\nOn January 25th, 2011, two representatives of Canuc, Mr. G. Lohman, President and CEO\n and Mr. J. Guzman, General Manager, Ecuador, met with Dr. Jorge Eduardo\n Calvas, the Sub-Secretary of Mines, Zone 7 south, to discuss numerous\n topics including the upcoming move and were most favourably impressed\n by the government's proactive approach particularly as it relates to\n the previously announced decision to begin a programme of environmental\n remediation in and around the village of Nambija. This program will\n involve soil stabilization in areas that are prone to mudslides and the\n sealing of entrances to some of the more dangerous underground\n workings.
