She was at the forefront of internationally recognized environmental assessment legislation. As Minister \nresponsible for Canada's National Park System, Ms. Copps introduced the concept of ecological integrity, which has subsequently been adopted internationally. She also spearheaded the UNESCO convention on cultural diversity.
