(TSXV: TXX) (\"Tirex\") is pleased to announce it has appointed the Honourable Sheila Copps to the position of Special Advisor. \n\nformer Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, Honourable Sheila Copps appointed\n\nMs. Copps is also a former Canadian Minister of Environment\n\ninternationally recognized for her leadership on environment issues\nMs. Copps, the first woman ever named to the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, also served as Canada's Minister of Environment. She was at the forefront of internationally recognized environmental assessment legislation. As Minister \nresponsible for Canada's National Park System, Ms. Copps introduced the concept of ecological integrity, which has subsequently been adopted internationally. She also spearheaded the UNESCO convention on cultural diversity. Her leadership in \nareas such as environmental stewardship, and women's and minority rights has been recognized not only in Canada but throughout the world. \n\nMs. Copps was a long standing cabinet member in Canada, serving as a Minister for 10 years. In addition to her role as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment, she also served as Minister of Canadian Heritage, responsible for parks, \nbroadcasting, arts and culture, status of women, urban Aboriginals, multiculturalism, official language and sport policies. She is the author of two books and has also worked as a journalist, broadcaster and political commentator in both English and \nFrench.
