The headend will serve\nthe Washington, DC metropolitan broadcast area comprised of approximately\n2,443,640 TV homes. This headend will be\nthe start of the CableClix long term station lineup in the Washington, DC\nmarket and will eventually be deployed nationally. The initial lineup will provide up to 30\nlocal, national, and international channels serving a wide array of news,\nsports, movies, weather, and popular series programming. The lineup will eventually provide more than\n60 channels and will include premium streaming content from major\nproviders. CableClix will utilize its\ncombination of bandwidth-optimized video delivery and customized set top boxes\nto deliver live streaming television and video-on-demand services over existing\nbroadband networks.\n\n \n\nAs an additional benefit, the Washington, DC headend is extending its\nbandwidth-optimized video delivery to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that\nare seeking a live streaming television product to add to existing\nportfolios. CableClix transcoding and\nvideo delivery technology will also be available to local broadcast affiliates\nto ensure maximum propagation of over-the-air broadcast signals within the\nWashington, DC television market.\n\n \n\n“Over the past three quarters, we have tested numerous combinations of\ntranscoders and network transport technologies. \nThe CableClix solution for live streaming television will deliver a much\ndesired product to anyone with a broadband connection in the most efficient way\npossible”, says Mark Bayliss, Founder and CTO of CableClix.
