Tim will take up his appointment on 1 October.\n \nTim has spent his entire career in the aggregates industry, most recently as director of Tarmac Limited's Western Area until earlier this year. Prior to this he was managing director of Tarmac Western Limited, the company formed by Anglo American from the former assets of Nash Rocks, Tilcon and Tarmac. He spent the previous 27 years with Nash Rocks, latterly as managing director.\n \nReporting to group chief executive, Simon Vivian, Tim will assume responsibility for all Breedon Aggregates' operations in England. The group's Scottish operations continue to be headed by Alan Mackenzie, chief executive of Breedon Aggregates Scotland.\n \nCommenting on Tim's appointment, Simon Vivian said:\n \n\"Tim is one of the most experienced senior managers in the UK building materials industry and we are delighted that he has agreed to take up this key role as we set out to build Breedon Aggregates into a major new force in the UK aggregates market.\"\n \n- ends -\n \nNote to editors\n \nBreedon Aggregates Limited is the largest independent aggregates group in the UK, after the five global majors. It operates 29 quarries, 19 asphalt plants and 27 concrete plants in England and Scotland and employs approximately 700 people. The group has approximately 180 million tonnes of mineral reserves and resources in the UK, providing an estimated life of approximately 50 years at current output levels.
