[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n \n17 May 2023\n \nBRAEMAR PLC\n(\"Braemar\", the \"Company\" or the \"Group\")\nBoard appointment\nBraemar Plc (LSE: BMS), a provider of expert investment, chartering, and risk management advice to the shipping and energy markets, is pleased to announce that the board has appointed Catriona Louise Valentine ('Cat') as an independent non-executive director with effect from 16 May 2023. Cat will also become a member of the Remuneration Committee and Audit & Risk Committee upon appointment.\n \nCat is a communications professional with over 25 years' experience, advising quoted and privately-owned companies on investor and corporate communications. She has extensive knowledge of the small-cap growth companies' market and considerable M&A transactional experience, having advised a broad range of clients on both AIM and the Main Market.\nCat started her career in 1996 with Rawlings Financial PR. She went on to lead this business, before establishing her own agency in 2008, which was acquired by Tavistock Communications in 2012. She then spent two years with Hudson Sandler, as Board Director, before joining the strategic communications advisory business, Belvedere Communications, in 2017, where she is Director and Co-owner.\nNigel Payne, Non-executive Chairman of Braemar, said:\n \n\"I am absolutely delighted to welcome Cat to the board.
